The Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was awarded in recognition of qualifying long and efficient service in the Royal Fleet Reserve, acknowledging the continued commitment of former Royal Navy personnel who remained available for recall to naval service.

This full-size replica medal features the Queen Elizabeth II (EIIR) design, representing the later period of this historic British naval long service award.

History of the Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service Medal

The Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was instituted in 1922 to recognise eligible personnel who completed the required period of qualifying service in the Royal Fleet Reserve.

The Royal Fleet Reserve was established to maintain a body of trained former Royal Navy personnel who could be recalled to active service when required.

The medal recognised the contribution of reservists who continued their commitment to naval service following their initial period of regular service.

Queen Elizabeth II (EIIR) Version

The Queen Elizabeth II version features the appropriate royal portrait and inscription associated with her reign.

The medal is suspended from its distinctive ribbon and represents the Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal as issued during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
