The South Atlantic Medal is a British campaign medal awarded to British military personnel and civilians for service in the Falklands War of 1982. This medal was awarded to those who took part in the liberation of South Georgia and the Falkland Islands or served at least 30 days in the operational zone including Ascension Island. Recipients who served at least one day in the Falklands or South Georgia were also awarded a rosette.
