The Africa Star was awarded for 1 days service in the North Africa theatre of operations between 10th June 1940 and 12th May 1943.

Those attached to 1st Army or 8th Army were awarded the appropriate clasp to the star, these are denoted by Arabic numerals worn on the ribbon bar when ribbons alone are worn. A third clasp for those who took part in the invasion 1942-43 was also awarded, this is represented by a silver rosette on the ribbon bar when ribbons alone are worn. Only one clasp may be worn even if more than one were awarded.

Swing Style Mounting

Medals are professionally mounted on a brooch bar using a variety of embroidery techniques and swing freely from the bar. This is the most common for of medal mounting, which produces a handsome finish to your medal or group of medals ready to be worn. The brooch bar has a secure pin on the reverse to be attached to your garment. A Medal Holder is available on which to attach the pin if you wish to protect your garment.
