The miniature Oman Glorious Fifteenth National Day Medal, also known as the Oman Fifteenth Anniversary Medal, represents the medal instituted by Sultan Qaboos on 18 November 1985.
Its Arabic transliterated title is:
Midal al-‘Aid al-Watani al-Khamas wa A‘ashir al-Majid
The medal commemorated the fifteenth anniversary of Sultan Qaboos’s accession to the throne of Oman in 1970. The full-size medal was awarded to qualifying service personnel and employees of the Omani Ministry of Defence who were serving on 18 November 1985.
The gold-coloured medal has a distinctive scalloped edge and is suspended from an ornate bar. Its ribbon is red with narrow green and white stripes.
