Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal – Queen Victoria Full Size

Army Long Service & Good Conduct Medal – Queen Victoria

A full-size replica of the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, featuring the Queen Victoria design and the traditional crimson medal ribbon.

Instituted in 1830, the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was awarded to soldiers of the British Army in recognition of exemplary conduct and lengthy military service.

When first introduced, the medal required 21 years of qualifying service for infantry soldiers and 24 years for cavalry soldiers. In 1870, the qualifying service period was reduced to 18 years.

The Queen Victoria version features the Royal Arms surrounded by military trophies on the obverse, while the reverse carries the inscription “FOR LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT”.

The medal is suspended from its distinctive crimson ribbon, reflecting the traditional appearance of this historic British Army decoration.
